Ton O' Tuna Challenge of East Orange County Kiwanis

09/04/2009 — The Kiwanis Club of East Orange County has accepted the Second Harvest Food Bank's "Ton o' Tuna" challenge. They have agreed to help collect and donate 2,000 pounds of canned or pouched tuna to Second Harvest to help families in need between now and Christmas Day. Here's the math: 1 can of tuna is 6 ounces. One ton is 2,000 pounds, or 32,000 ounces. A "ton o' tuna" is therefore 5,333 cans. A challenging goal, but not impossible!
